In response to your request I visited Jelson Angling Club's Small and Large Meynell lakes on the morning of 21st May 2008. I checked the basic water quality of both lakes.
The results were as follows:
Dissolved Oxygen (%) pH Ammonia (ppt)
Small Lake (margin) 97 7 <0.1>
Large Lake (margin) 102 7 <0.1
These represent good conditions for fish for these elements of water chemistry.
As a whole I was impressed with the overall management of the site - its always nice to see a fishery that's considerate of its fish, anglers and wildlife.
